The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) has officially opened online applications for the 2026 academic year.

  • Applications opened: Monday, 12 May 2025
  • Closing date for most undergraduate programmes:
    • South African citizens: 30 September 2025
    • International applicants: 29 August 2025
  • Closing date for certain programmes: Some programmes may have earlier deadlines – applicants should carefully check requirements.
  • Master’s and Doctoral (full research) applications: Closing date is 13 March 2026.

To avoid missing out, it is highly recommended that applicants submit their applications early.

Important Information Before You Apply

1. Valid Email Address

Applicants must have a working and valid email address. All communication from CPUT will be sent to this address.

2. Check Admission Requirements

Before applying, ensure that you meet the minimum requirements for your chosen programme.

3. Application Fees

  • Online applications: Free of charge
  • Manual (paper-based) applications: R110 (non-refundable)
  • Late manual applications: R160

4. Required Supporting Documents

All documents must be submitted as certified PDF copies.

For South African Citizens:

  • Certified copy of your ID document or Birth Certificate
  • Certified copy of your Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
  • Current Grade 12 learners must submit Grade 11 results
  • Certified copies of academic records and certificates for previous qualifications (if applicable)
